Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out of high school and moved into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001 despite struggling with finances. Her portrayal in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television film Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) along with her. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon once more in the show's finale and in two additional episodes. The actress was featured in 2013's six-season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's a star-gazer and groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the daughter and older sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for both her performances as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress received a nomination from the Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child received her a nomination to the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directed debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
